Orbital Logistics manages a 300-vehicle delivery fleet across a regional distribution network, previously coordinated through a patchwork of spreadsheets, radio dispatch and a legacy scheduling tool nobody trusted.

The Challenge

What we were solving for

Dispatchers had no real-time visibility into vehicle location or route efficiency, routes were planned manually each morning, and fuel costs kept climbing without a clear way to diagnose why.

Research

What we found

Ride-alongs with dispatchers and drivers showed routes were frequently duplicated or inefficient due to lack of shared visibility, and fuel spend was going largely untracked at the vehicle level.

The Solution

How we approached it

We built a custom fleet management platform with real-time GPS tracking, automated route optimization, and per-vehicle fuel and maintenance tracking.

A dispatcher dashboard replaced the radio-and-spreadsheet workflow with a live map view and automated route suggestions.

Driver-facing mobile screens provided turn-by-turn routing and simple status updates, feeding data back into the platform automatically.
